Industrial Flooring Systems
Engineered Surface Integrity for High-Output Manufacturing and Heavy Industrial Infrastructure
Industrial facilities operate under mechanical and chemical stresses that standard surfaces simply cannot withstand. From heavy machinery vibrations and steel-wheeled traffic to aggressive chemical exposure and extreme point-loading, the floor is a critical component of your production infrastructure. At Procure Surface Solutions, we engineer industrial flooring systems that ensure structural longevity and operational safety across the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding markets.
We do not provide general-purpose coatings; we deliver engineered surface systems designed to handle the specific “kill zones” of heavy industry.
Where Industrial Flooring Systems — And Where They Don’t
Industrial systems are specified based on the mechanical “load” and chemical “profile” of the operation.
System selection must be based on “Compressive Strength” and “Modulus of Elasticity”—not just color.
Ideal Applications:
- Heavy manufacturing and assembly plants.
- Metal fabrication and tool-and-die facilities.
- Automotive and aerospace production lines.
- Chemical processing and secondary containment areas.
- Waste transfer stations and recycling centers.
- Pulp and paper mills.
Not Always Suitable For:
- Retail or residential spaces where aesthetics outweigh mechanical density.
- Food-grade washdown zones requiring rapid thermal cycling (requires Urethane Cement).
- Substrates with active structural movement that have not been stabilized.
Why Standard Industrial Floors Fail
The failure of an industrial floor is rarely a product issue; it is almost always an engineering failure. Standard epoxies often fail in heavy industry because they are too brittle or applied too thin.
Common causes of failure:
- Brittle Fracture: Heavy impact causing rigid coatings to shatter and delaminate from the concrete.
- Chemical Attack: Oils, coolants, or solvents soaking through thin-mil coatings and attacking the concrete bond-line.
- Point-Load Failure: Massive machinery weight “crushing” the resin layer into the concrete.
- Vibration Fatigue: Constant mechanical resonance from equipment causing the bond between the resin and concrete to shear.
The result:
- Exposed, dusty concrete that contaminates machinery and product.
- Structural slab degradation leading to expensive repairs.
- Safety hazards for personnel and increased wear on equipment.
Types of Industrial Flooring Systems
We specify the system build based on the required “Body” and “Hardness” of the environment.

Our Approach to Industrial Engineering
At Procure Surface Solutions, we coordinate our work with your maintenance shutdowns to ensure zero production loss.
- Mechanical Load Audit: Identifying forklift routes, pallet drop-zones, and heavy equipment pads.
- Substrate Decontamination: Removing deep-seated oils and greases to reach clean, bondable concrete.
- Heavy Mechanical Profiling: Achieving a CSP 4-6 through shot-blasting or diamond grinding for a permanent anchor.
- Structural Repair: Injecting cracks and rebuilding joints with high-strength polymers.
- Multi-Layer Application: Building the system thickness required to handle your specific mechanical stress.
Quality Assurance & Why Procure Surface Solutions
Industrial infrastructure is a long-term asset. We treat it as a structural priority.
- Extreme Compressive Strength: Our industrial systems are engineered to exceed 10,000 psi, far surpassing standard concrete.
- Shatter-Proof Toughness: We utilize “toughened” resins that balance hardness with the flexibility to absorb impact.
- Hygienic and Dust-Free: Our monolithic surfaces eliminate concrete dusting, protecting your air quality and precision machinery.
- 45 Years of Combined Authority: We have engineered floors for the most aggressive manufacturing environments in the GTA.
We do not install coatings—we engineer outcomes.

FAQs — Frequently Asked Questions in the GTA
Yes. We are experts at “detailing” around equipment pads and footings. We create a liquid-tight, chemical-resistant seal between the new floor and the machine bases to prevent fluids from migrating underneath.
A coating is a thin layer (mils) designed for light to medium wear. A mortar system is a thick (1/4″ to 3/8″) structural overlay designed to rebuild a floor and handle the most extreme industrial abuse.
We utilize specialized oil-emulsifying cleaners and deep mechanical grinding followed by “oil-tolerant” primers designed to chemically bond through residual contamination.
